FOX Eredivisie TV Income Distribution 2016-17

FOX Eredivisie TV Income Distribution 2016-17

04/26/2016

The Eredivisie season has finished, so time to look ahead to the tentative TV Income Distribution for the coming season. Tentative because it is not yet known which clubs will attain the rights to play in the eredivisie via the promotion relegation matches. For now we have assumed besides Cambuur no club will relegate, so also besides Sparta no club will promote. We do not have any official confirmation but we have seen the 72 million we estimated for last season on several other websites as well, so assume this is roughly the right figure and we will work with 88 million for the 2016-17 season.
Although Ajax had to leave the title to PSV once again they are still ahead in the standing for the TV Income Distribution, because this standing is determined based on the eredivisie results of the past 10 seasons. Ajax will earn a little below 10 million and PSV follows with a little below 9 million. Feyenoord increases the gap with the number 4 and will receive a little below 8 million. In comparison to last season AZ also surpassed FC Twente and will earn significantly more with a little below 7 million. Groningen also surpassed SC Heerenveen, while Vitesse, Utrecht Heracles and Den Haag remained in the same position. Zwolle rose two places and Roda JC lost two places, NEC stayed in between. Zwolle is relatively low because of their short time in the Eredivisie while the calculation uses the results of the past 10 years, but if they keep up their results of the past seasons they are sure to improve their position further in the seasons to come. Cambuur is no longer on the list, last year was number 16 and Sparta appears at position 18. The order of Willem II, Excelsior and De Graafschap did not change.
The bottom 4 positions, with respect to club and order, depend on the results of the Eredivisie playoffs and we will upate our ranking as soon as the results are known.
