Ajax started with most inexperienced lineup against Urk

Last week's match for the Dutch cup against Urk was the match with the lineup with least experience in Ajax 1. For sure since the season 1965-66, but it could very well we will have to go back to the early years (the lineup of Ajax' first match had per deifnition 0 experience in Ajax 1) to get to a lineup with less experience.

For the cup match against Urk there is some nuance, we should realize that amongst others with Nick Viergever, Diederik Boer and Lerin Duarte there were players in the starting lineup that had plenty of experience for other clubs.

Above is not an excuse in the sense that the total of 202 official matches of experience in Ajax 1 is still very little. Also in the past often substitute players were given a chance during the (theoretically) easier Dutch cup matches, but at that time either the substitute players had significant more experience, or the few regulars made sure the number of 202 experience matches was exceeded (by a large margin).

Recently Ajax played a match that had the youngest lineup since 10 years, which gives some indication that Ajax recently has trouble holding on to its more experienced (on basis of matches in Ajax 1 and on basis of age) players. Few months ago we already observed that in recent years Ajax lost nett experience each season. From that point of view this record is a logical consequence. It is up to the future to show us whether Ajax will ultimately be able to hold on to its players for a longer time, or whether these inexperienced lineups will become common.
