Dutch Competition

Halfway the competition Ajax was doing well with 14 points out of 9 matches in the First Division West II, but a lot of teams were still together, so was Feyenoord based on points in the 6th position, while it had the same amount of lost points as Ajax with one game in hand. Ajax was unable to keep hold of the good position and finished 1 point behind Feyenoord in 4th position. Feyenoord finished the champions competition 3rd behind the new domestic champion SC Enschede.

Beker

Ajax participates in the Dutch Cup, but first division teams do not need to play the first two rounds. In the 3rd round Ajax played with a weakened team against HRC and was eliminated.

Lineup

Three new players came from 't Gooi while Frans Couton, Fons Pelser and Theo Brokmann Sr. were hardly available throughout the season, so that there were quite some changes compared to the previous season: Jan van Heeswijk (goalkeeper), Henk Anderiesen and Dolf van Kol (defense), Joop Martens, Wim Anderiesen Sr., and Henk Hordijk (midfield and stopper spil), Eddy Hamel, Wim Volkers, Frans Rutte, Wout Iseger, and Henk Twelker (forward). Joop Martens was indicated as captain during a match, but he didn't seem to be sure of his place in the squad. Jan de Boer was available again after 11 matches and defended the goal for the remaining 7 competition matches. The following players also played official matches: Wim Addicks (4), Cor Jurriaans (4), Wim de Bois (3), Fons Pelser (3), Rinus Brink (2), Gerard Deen (2), Hein Delsen (2), Theo Schetters (2), Frans Couton (1), Jouke Kuipers (1), Piet Vunderink (1).

Coach

Harols Rose became the new trainer for Ajax.

General Meeting

During the general meeting July 24 1925 the board was composed as follows: president W.F. Egeman, 2nd president Maarten Smit, 1st secretary J.J. Grootmeijer, 2nd secretary M.J. Koolhaas, 1st treasurer J. Oudheusden, 2nd treasurer J. Schoevaart. Committee members J. Pelser, F. Couton, and S. Tump. President W.F. Egeman indicated that he will resign on the next general meeting and was appointed as honory president. During a general meeting on September 12 Frans Schoevaart is assigned as the new president.

Herman Geestman

Herman Geestman broke a leg at the beginning of the season during a match for Ajax II.

Insurance

Already since the introduction of the second First Division West group and the merger of these two groups the interest in soccer had dimished, especially in Amsterdam. This season both Blauw-Wit and Ajax insured their receipts from the home matches. Ajax paid 7% of the receipts of each competition home game and in return the insurer compensated Ajax uptil 3000 Guilders in case the receipts were lower.

Anderiesen Brothers

For lineups newspapers were often inconsistent when it came to indicating which of the Anderiesen brothers played at a certain position. It happened that different newspapers gave for the same match Anderiesen Sr. or Anderiesen Jr. as rightback. Because of this lineups and possible goal scorers are not always reliable. We actually don&339;t know the birthdate of Henk Anderiesen, but assume he is the older brother, so when the newspaper reports refer to Anderiesen Sr. they mean Henk and when they refer to Anderiesen Jr. they refer to Wim Anderiesen Sr.

Theo Brokmann Sr.

It is unknown what the situation of Theo Brokmann Sr. was during this season. He did not play, but it was indicated he would possibly play and for the match Ajax - Feyenoord his name was listed on the published lineup, although in the end Wim de Bois played instead. Afer the regular season ends Brokmann participated in friendly matches.

Marius Koolhaas

Marius Koolhaas, due to health reasons, temporarily stops his activities for Ajax.

Protest Ajax - Excelsior

For the second time in Ajax' history the soccer association played a dubious and decisive role in the competition. During the match Ajax - Excelsior the lightly injured Iseger was asked to play in defense because Ajax needed fully capable attack players to recover from the one goal behind. Iseger indicated he preferred to leave the pitch, assuming Ajax could use a replacement. However the referee refused a replacement and the referee also refused Iseger back on the field, with as reason that he did not have his approval to leave the field. When Ajax submitted a protest against this decision the protest committee of the soccer association used a dubious rule, namely that without a referees approval only players and linesmen are allowed to enter the pitch. Dubious, because this would mean the referee has the right to no longer aknowledge players as such once they have left the pitch. Strange because during those times it was very common a player would leave the pitch for a lengthy injury treatment, sometimes lasting 10 minutes or longer, before entering the pitch again. According to Ajax the referee has no right to refuse, only to give the player an official warning, in this situation. To make it more peculiar, the following season, when faced with a seemingly identical protest, the protest committee did decide the match had to be partly replayed.

Terminus Competition

After the competition ends there was a new initiative of NAC, Sparta and Go Ahead, the Terminus competition for former domestic champions that still are fighting for top spot in the First Division, but were unable to become division champion this season. Ajax quite easily won the full competition.

Germany and France Trip

Ajax made a trip to Germany and France at the end of the season, but nothing is known about who participated in the trip, or who played the matches, only the final scores.
