New list: Most efficient substitutes in the Eredivisie
We have added a new list on April 23 containing Ajax' most efficient substitutes. This is based on the average minutes required by a substitute to score goals. Note that Akpom, Weghorst and Brobbery are in the top 10 of this list.
However if we look at the list of most efficient goalscorers (all official matches, substitute or starting lineup), we don't see any of the strikers currently under contract in the top 10. Weghorst does best (but, with 9 goals so far, needs to score another goal to be in the list), Akpom is 24th and Brobbey 33th.

New list: Most efficient substitutes in an Eredivisie season
We have added a new list on April 18 containing the Eredivisie seasons with most efficient substitutes. This is based on the average minutes required by substitutes to score goals. The current season is also high on this list, but not as high as the list with total goals by substitutes.
The 150 minutes on average per goal for the current seasons means that if Farioli would each game substitute 5 players in the 60th minutes (those player would than play 150 minutes in total), on average 1 goal per match would be scored by the substitutes. That is not a bad statistic at all.
In the record season 1981-82 Vanenburg, with 3 goals in 104 minutes as substitute, had a large contribution, next to Kieft van Basten and Silooy, who each scored only one goal as a substitute, but were also eached only active less than 50 minutes as substitute.
New list: Most goals by substitutes in an Eredivisie season
We have added a new list on April 16 containing the Eredivisie seasons during which most goals were scores by substitutes. It was already known the current season is at the top.
As is common with statistics there is a great risk to draw wrong conclusions, for example assuming this is caused by extraordinary performances of individual players like Weghorst. It could also be caused by a combination of the fact that only since recently more substitutes are allowed, Ajax' head coach Farioli likes to substitute a lot, and the attack Godts-Brobbey-Traore is not that difference from the attack Edvardsen-Weghorst-Berghuis.
Our plan is too dive a bit more into this in the coming days, for example by looking into whether this season the substitues really require few minutes to score goals, whether there are individual substitues who score a lot of goals, and whether there are individual substitutes who require few minutes to score goals.
New list: Most minimal wins in an Eredivisie season
We have added a new list on April 14 containing the Eredivisie seasons with most minimal (one goal difference) wins. Our feeling before was that this season would score quite high on the list, and that seems to be correct, especially if Ajax is able to win a few times more with one goal difference in the five remaining matches.
Only if all remaining 5 matches will be won with one goal difference will this season tie with 1976-77 for season with most minimal wins.
Interesting to see is that from all 11 seasons during which Ajax won 9 games or more with only a one goal difference, Ajax became Eredivisie winner 9 times and ended up 2nd 2 times, so with many minimal wins Ajax has always done very well in the past.
Most recent debut
Don-Angelo Konadu is the most recent player making his debut for Ajax in an official match. He made his debut during Ajax - Go Ahead Eagles 2 - 0 (0 - 0). During his debut he was 18 years and 296 days old.
