Ronald Koeman failed this season

Previous Ajax player and coach, Ronald Koeman, will, as things currently look, in his last season at Feyenoord again not win any price.
Feyenoord was the only one of the top three that was able to hold on the squad from last season, by now has 8 Dutch internationals, and both the youth academy and coach Koeman himself were considered top notch by many. As Ajacied I am subjective enough to not consider either as the best of the Netherlands, but objective enough as well to see both are indeed good. Ajax lost some of its key players and PSV even replaced most of its squad, so it was expected that Koeman would not only gain more points with Feyenoord compared to previous season, but also win the domestic title.
Things didn't happen as expected. Ronald Koeman tried to get the best out of his squad in Mourinho style, but especially during the three confrontations with Ajax this did not work out well. Typical was the start of the match in De Kuip: where Siem de Jong before the players entered the pitchu, laughing in a relaxed manner, shook hands with everyone, some of the Feyenoord players were anything but relaxed. During the match itself and afterwards it became abundantly clear that amongst others Pelle could not deal with the pressure that was imposed on the squad by Koeman.
In the most positive scenario Feyenoord will end with the same amount of points as last season, and in Feyenoord circles a real price is so rare that the possible second place is already considered a price and because of that Koeman is highly regarded. However objectively one cannot conclude anything different that, considering the circumstances for Feyenoord at the start of the season and the, to put it mildly, average results of Ajax and its others competitors this season, Ronald Koeman missed a chance to get the domestic title and because of that has failed.
